Fur Laughs: Watch This Kitten Attack A Helpless Potato [VIDEO]

Cats can be vicious predators, as seen in the horrifying video above where a kitten attacks a small, defenseless potato for no reason. What could the potato have possibly said to make this kitten so angry?

A kitten once attacked my foot like this. It was quite disturbing, and my foot has been emotionally traumatized ever since. Luckily, kittens lose interest very quickly, as you can see in the video.

And if that short clip wasn’t enough kitten-on-spud action for you, check out the next video below. The same kitten is at it again, this time attacking the bag that holds the potatoes before pouncing on another tater.

With all this potato biting and scratching going on, you may be wondering if cats can even eat potatoes safely. Should you film your cat playing with a spud? Here’s what you should know!

Can Cats Eat Potatoes?

There is no short yes or no answer as to whether cats can eat potatoes. Technically, when potatoes are cooked appropriately, they are not toxic to cats and can be enjoyed safely.

But as cats are obligate carnivores, you really want to avoid feeding your cat too many potatoes and instead keep to a protein-focused feline diet.

As always, you must ask your regular veterinarian before going sharing any human food with your beloved feline, including potatoes.

Avoid feeding raw potatoes to cats, as they can be poisonous, just like for humans. If you want to feed your feline some potatoes, you’ll need to cook them in a safe and appropriate fashion.

Boiled potatoes cooked in plain water and left unseasoned can be peeled and cut up into small pieces to feed to your cat. Just make sure the potatoes have cooled properly.

If you want to go an extra step, you can also turn the boiled potatoes into mashed potatoes.
