‘A Quiet Place’ Challenge Goes Viral Among Cat Owners

The “A Quiet Place” cat challenge has gone viral on TikTok and has now made its way to Instagram, giving feline lovers an opportunity to participate in social media trends. The movie saw Frodo the kitty navigating an apocalyptic world with their human, where the monsters will kill anybody who makes a sound. This made cat owners curious if their furry friends would have survived in the 2024 film’s apocalyptic world.

After “A Quiet Place: Day One” was released, cat lovers quickly pointed out how kitties tend not to stay as disciplined and quiet as Frodo. The fan-favorite character was played by feline actors Schnitzel and Nico. Schnitzel also made an appearance for one of the photo calls during the movie’s press tour. The feline actors did a fantastic job with their role, with Lupita Nyong’o, who used to be afraid of cats, adopting a kitty of her own named Yoyo.

However, the 2024 film made cat owners curious about their furry friends’ capabilities. This was how the “A Quiet Place” cat challenge came about. The viral TikTok challenge requires one to grab their feline and run for their life, all while recording their reaction on camera. In the movie, Samira and Eric often had to make a run for it with Frodo in their arms. Cat owners try to simulate the same by sprinting back and forth in front of their cameras, hoping their furry companion stays quiet as they do so.

TikTok user @sustopodcast’s attempt garnered more than seven million views. The caption read, “We wouldn’t and she got a treat after this,” with the creator acknowledging kitty Margaret would probably not survive the apocalypse. Instagram user @jiny.maeng also tried the “A Quiet Place” cat challenge. However, her feline Aladdin surprisingly ‘survived the apocalypse’ by keeping calm throughout the video. Her successful attempt garnered over 26,000 likes.
